Daniel M. Winter D.D.S.
Dr. Winter was born and raised in Arvada, Colorado. He received his dental degree with honors from the University of Colorado. Dr. Winter completed a general practice residency at Charity Hospital of New Orleans in conjunction with Louisiana State University School of Dentistry. In 1989, Dr. Winter and his wife, Gretchen, established their home and general dental practice in Manhattan, KS. Their practice emphasizes general dental care for the entire family including a full range of dental treatment. They have two daughters, Maggie and Mollie. Dr. Winter has been awarded fellow status in the following: The American Association of Hospital Dentists, The Academy of General Dentistry and the American Academy of Forensic Sciences. Dr. Winter is a diplomat to the American Board of Forensic Odontology. Dr. Winter maintains active staff privileges at Mercy Regional Health Center. He is also the founder and director of the Center for Dental Sleep Medicine located in Manhattan, Kansas. A practice dedicated to the science of oral appliance therapy for sleep breathing disorders.

Sleep Dentistry, Featuring Dr. Daniel Winter of the Downtown Dental Group and the Center for Dental Sleep Medicine in Manhattan and Salina, Kansas

Ever since Dr. Daniel Winter was consulted on by a local pulmonologist for sleep apnea, it has been a real interest of his.  Dr. Winter, of the Downtown Dental Group in Manhattan, Selina and Topeka, Kansas, has a dental practice that is unique in its ability to medically and dentally co-manage patients.  It gives an opportunity for both doctors and dentists to work side by side in treating a patient's condition.

Sleep apnea is a new, exciting field in the area of medicine and after treating his first patient, Dr. Winter took it upon himself to learn more about the field of sleep medicine breathing with oral sleep appliance therapy.  After dental school, Dr. Winter spent two years in a hospital setting studying the medical-dental co-management of patients with physicians.  Having always been an area of interest, it's been a natural fit for him to enter this field.

Dr. Winter has taken numerous courses, making him board-certified with the two leading organizations in treating sleep medicine breathing and oral sleep appliance therapy.
