Form and Function For Patients is Primary Goal for Dr. Kevin Cebrynski, Dentist, Scottsdale, Arizona

Dr. Kevin Cebrynski is a dentist in Scottsdale, Arizona who has been practicing for 20 years.  In those 20 years, his practice philosophy is to create function for the patient, to get them back to systemic health, with the aesthetic side always being a bonus to what he does.  He considers function and form his primary responsibility in treating his patients.

Dr. Kevin CybrinskiThe ability to take someone who won't smile or is afraid to show their teeth and transforming them by fixing their smile is very rewarding for Dr. Cebrynski, who sees these patients get back on track in seeking a "normal" life again.

Zirconia Fixed Dentures, With Dr. Kevin Cybrinski, Dentist, Scottsdale, Arizona

Today, dentures have milled titanium frameworks and there are full zirconia-hybrid fixed dentures where the entire arch of teeth are milled which are then characterized just like a porcelain bridge or crown, says Dr. Kevin Cebrynski, a dentist with Cebrynski Rehabilitative Dentistry in Scottsdale, Arizona.  With that, comes beautiful aesthetics, strength from the solid piece of zirconia and durability for the long-term.  In the past, the weakest link has always been the denture teeth that wear out and break, causing them to be redone.

Dr. Kevin CybrinskiThe zirconia fixed denture is anchored to the jaw with 4-6 implants just like with any other fixed denture but the result is more aesthetically-pleasing and more durable, Dr. Cebrynski says.

Benefit of Dental Implants, With Dr. Kevin Cebrynski, Dentist, Scottsdale, Arizona

The benefit of having implants placed to replace natural teeth is that the bone is no longer continuing to reabsorb because there's enough stimulus through biting that the brain tells the bone not to reabsorb, says Dr. Kevin Cebrynski, a dentist with Cebrynski Rehabilitative Dentistry in Scottsdale, Arizona.  Without an implant, the bone will reabsorb until there's just a flat piece left in the mouth and so dentures don't fit anymore and the ability to eat goes way down to the point where you can't eat anymore, he says.

Dr. Kevin CebrynskiDr. Cebrynski doesn't offer "same day implants," but patients can have their teeth removed and go home with a temporary prosthesis that day, which takes time to get fabricated to the right size and shape.  The surgery is done thereafter, when the healing process is complete and the implants actually get placed.  The ability for your body to heal an oral cavity is quite quick, says Dr. Cebrynski, so that the day after the implants are placed, relatively normal activity can resume.

Dental Implants, With Dr. Kevin Cebrynksi, Dentist, Scottsdale, Arizona

A dental implant is an oseo-integrated implant where the bone cells grow around the titanium fixture.  It looks like a screw that is surgically implanted in the bone.  While the procedure sounds painful, Dr. Kevin Cebrynski, a dentist in Scottsdale, Arizona, says that his patients often tell him that it's far less painful than having the tooth extracted.  The fixtures themselves are much smaller than our natural teeth so the surgery in placing them is far less traumatic.  Additionally, since there are no longer nerves around the area, there is no pain associated with the implant placement.

Dr. Kevin CebrynskiThe cost of dental implants and their associated prosthetics are actually less than any bridge work that would be required to replace teeth, says Dr. Cebrynski.  He also says that age is "not a discriminating factor" when it comes to dental implants as our bodies are constantly turning over the cells in our body, including bone so the bones cells will grow to the implant.

Effect of Sleep Apnea on the Brain, With Dr. Kevin Cebrynski, Dentist, Scottsdale, Arizona

The effects of obstructive sleep apnea, on the more severe side systemically, can range from cardiovascular disease, brain issues, such as Alzheimer's Disease, Parkinson's Disease or any other neurological deficits as a result of constant lack of oxygenated blood to the brain throughout the night.  If patients stop breathing over 100 times per night for 10 seconds each time, that's a significant amount of oxygen loss to the brain and to the organs, says Dr. Kevin Cebrynski, a dentist with Cebrynski Rehabilitative Dentistry in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dr. Kevin CebrynskiSnoring and sleep apnea have a detrimental effect on a relationship, with the spouse constantly complaining.  With the ability to correct this and have them sleeping in the same bed again, relationships have been enhanced just with the use of oral appliances, says Dr. Cebrynski.
